What to Expect
1. Setting the Intention
The session begins with a brief conversation between you and the Reiki practitioner. You may discuss any physical, emotional, or energetic concerns you'd like to focus on. The practitioner may also explain how Reiki works if it’s your first time.
2. Creating a Relaxing Environment
The session takes place in a quiet, comfortable space. Soft lighting, calming music, and perhaps aromatherapy (such as essential oils) may be used to enhance relaxation.
3. Getting Comfortable
You remain fully clothed and either lie on a massage table or sit in a chair. The practitioner will ensure you are comfortable before beginning.
4. Energy Healing Begins
The practitioner will place their hands lightly on or just above your body in specific positions, focusing on key energy centers (chakras) and areas that may need healing. They may start at the head and move down to the feet or follow an intuitive flow.
5. Feeling the Energy
During the session, you may experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a sense of deep relaxation. Some people see colors, feel emotional releases, or simply fall into a meditative state.
6. Closing the Session
The practitioner will gently bring you back to full awareness, sometimes by grounding your energy with a light touch on your feet or guiding you to take deep breaths. They may offer insights or observations from the session.
7. Post-Session Reflection
Afterward, you may feel peaceful, energized, or even emotional as energy continues to shift. The practitioner might suggest drinking water, journaling, or resting to integrate the healing effects.
Each Reiki session is unique, but the overall goal is to bring balance, relaxation, and a sense of well-being.
